A List Of Things I Want To Do When I Grow Up.
Why I love Lana Del Rey.
When I discover new (or old) music that I love, I tend to obsess. I listen to the same songs over and over again until I get sick of them. New music that makes me feel this way is quite rare, so when I discovered Lana Del Rey's mellow, beautiful Born To Die, I was swept away.
I think this girl has one of the most breathtaking voices of this decade. Her music creates anatmosphere that's so far away from the artificial teenybopper singers of today. I think her voice is truly one of a kind.
Her music has that vintage romantic feel, you can really connect well and disappear to a different reality by listening to Lizzy Grant (Lana Del Rey). Her lyrics are catchy and tell a story. Which makes her music 10 times better because it gives you that feeling
and makes you imagine.
All of her songs are my favourite but I have ones I adore, Without You, The Lucky Ones and Dark Paradise.
One other thing I love about Lana, is her looks. Very unique and different to what singers look like in this music industry. Her winged eyeliner, long dark brown hair and her little tattoos. I think she has three but I don't know. She has lots on her hands, a M, trust no one and paradise.
I don't know why she gets so much internet hate, Thats not what we're supposed to do on the web but people do it anyway. She has a beautiful voice and everything.
Lana, we salute you for everything!

Beauty Doesnt Exist Perception Does
(Photo taken in California, Santa Cruz, Twin Lakes Beach, By Elisa B (Me)
I don't find myself attractive, at all.
Now, I will clarify here, this is not a self hating statement. Note my wording: note how I never said I am not attractive. I just do not perceive myself that way.
The key term there is "perceive." Perception is a process unique to each and every person.
It is a combination of past experiences, preferences and ability to think fluidly. The past experiences may teach you that a certain thing is definably "ugly" or "beautiful." From there, preferences are formed, helping you determine which things attract and which repulse you. Fluidity is the ability to be open-minded and flexible in thinking, seeing beauty in new or different things. Now, I will clarify here, this is not a self hating statement. Note my wording: note how I never said I am not attractive. I just do not perceive myself that way.
The key term there is "perceive." Perception is a process unique to each and every person.
If I were to see myself, in a third person setting, I would not find myself to be beautiful or attractive. I have my own perception of beauty, which leads to my own personal definition of it. This definition can not be verbalized or written, for it is simply ingrained in my subconscious. The same concept that I apply to others is applied to myself.
I am not ugly. I just do not fit my own definition of beauty. Yet, there are certain less commonly appreciated things that I find attractive. My beauty definition includes: messy hair and sweat after a workout, collarbones, a cocky attitude, intelligence, written words and flaws. I am a perfectionist, but I love the flaws in others. Weird, but that is just how I perceive beauty.
When others compliment me, I often find myself surprised. Annoying as it is to others, my favorite response is "really?" It is not that I am fishing for further assurance of my attractiveness, but that I am genuinely shocked that someone thinks I am beautiful. Though perhaps as humans we are merely more harsh on ourselves.
I suppose what I need to stress here is this:
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Just because one person says you are unattractive does not mean that is true. There is no universal criteria for beauty, you cannot simply be beautiful or ugly. Those terms do not exist in a single definable way, what one person sees to be attractive is not going to be the same as someone else. I am sick of girls starving themselves just to be "beautiful" and guys bulking up just because they think that is how they should look.
Wake up, beauty does not exist. Perception does. If you are unsure on perception, look it up.
Do you find yourself attractive? Do you find certain things attractive that are not common "beauty" (physical or mental) standards?
Cold Weather.
Cold weather is officially staying.
You know what that means:
- I need to go buy more sweaters/hoodies/coats.
- Possibly find a partner to keep me warm, or something.
- Foggy mornings, coffee, movies, coffee, rice pudding, coffee, rainy day/night.
- [ Insert cute thing to do during the winter season ]
You know, all that cute crap that comes along this season. Yup, I love this weather.
Rainy Friday.
It's been sunny all week and the rain is back, oh well.
I like it when it rains, it puts me in one of them moods where I can put my jammies on, fluffy socks, drink tea and watch movies.
Hopefully it doesn't rain tomorrow because I'm going Autumn clothes shopping.
Which will be fun because I love to shop like every single teenage girl does.
But I love the rain.
Everyone says it's so depressing.
I just like to think of it as the world getting sad every once in a while just like me.
Even mother nature isn't perfect.

Another Post About Autumn
Every year I fall deeper in love with Autumn.
The pinching chill of the wind against your skin as soon as you step foot outside the door. The way the leaves seem to adopt the vibrant hues of the early sunsets. The abundant return of woolly hats and scarves and jumpers. The rosiness of cheeks and wild, untamed hair. The way a cold day has the bizarre effect of making every thought and every feeling we experience seem more intense, more exciting, more present.
In Autumn, my dormant sense of adventure starts to stir and I feel as if I’m finally experiencing life in all of its potential, as opposed to the diluted, paltry imitation of life I accept for myself normally.

Come On In, My Old Friend Autumn
I am starting to feel autumn in the air
the crispy leaves on the ground, and the green that fades
soon I'll be hanging my big sweaters in front of my clothing
and drink lots of tea everyday.
i'm afraid of the dark short days.
but lets try to welcome our old friend autumn
with it's warm colours, and cold days.

In August of 1991 fifteen-year-old Charlie begins writing letters about his life to a stranger who he thinks will listen and understand. He doesn’t want this person to know who he is, so he has changed all the names of the people in his life. Charlie has a tendency to over think things, and prefers to look on from the sidelines than to participate. As he starts high school, he is still trying to get over the recent suicide of his best friend Michael. Charlie soon befriends Patrick and Sam and is introduced to their friends. Their world is one full of sex, drugs, love, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, mixed tapes, and moments that make you feel infinite.
I picked this book up because of the cover, I loved what the cover looked like, when I started reading it, I got straight into it, it was quite interesting at the beginning.
I would rate it a 10, because the book is literally the greatest book ever.
After I finished reading this book, I tried to put my finger on what makes this book special. It wasn’t the great quotes or the characters, but how poignant this book is. What makes me love The Perks of Being a Wallflower is how real the emotions in this book feel. A lot of the things that happened to Charlie have never happened to me, but while reading this book it felt as if they had.
I love this book, I connected well with Charlie and the other characters, but now there gone, I'm going to miss Charlie's letters everyday.
I loved the way it was written, I don't normally read books written in letters, but I loved this one, I'm lost for words.
Theres nothing bad about this book, except that it had to end overall its the best book i've ever read. I recommend it.
“So, this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I'm still trying to figure out how that could be.”
Idk really.
I'm now thirteen, lets throw a party, I'm in year 9 now, I've chosen my GSCE choices (Geography, Mandarin, Music and Core PE) the rest are the same as the normal classes, I've also finished my book The perks of being a wallflower by Stephen-Chbosky, which is my favourite book, I miss charlie's letters, I connected with him alot. My new book is coming in the post on Monday, yay!, I have to do homework today, only two easy ones but still, Sundays are made to do nothing, drink hot chocolate, lie in bed, wearing no makeup and watching movies. oh well. I have a first date the week next week on Saturday, its going to be fun, I will make a post about it and take pictures etc etc.
Well, my life has been pretty great at the moment, I'm in a winter/christmassy mood, I'm ready for the big knitted jumpers, scarves, gloves, big boots, pastel colours etc etc. I just want winter to arrive already.
Schools going to drag but i'd go fast... then I'd already be time to go to china for 2 weeks, yes I will also take pictures and write about my trip to china.
On my thirteenth birthday! -

Everywhere you turn today, there’s bad news, an endless negativity. It’s why I started this blog – to focus on something positive, a different kind of story I hope will connect with those who read it and compel them to do something positive; I hope to inspire at least one person
